Jordan’s King Demands Global Action to End Middle East Tensions
During a phone call with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, the king reiterated Jordan’s firm stance against allowing its land to be used for military confrontations, emphasizing that any threat to the country’s security, stability, or citizen safety would not be tolerated.
The Royal Hashemite Court issued a statement affirming that King Abdullah stressed the urgency of global cooperation to reduce regional volatility, cautioning that ongoing unrest could lead to severe fallout.
He further called for sustained international attention on the crises in Gaza and the West Bank, advocating for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, the provision of adequate humanitarian assistance to the area, and an end to heightened conflict in the West Bank and Jerusalem.
Meanwhile, Starmer’s office confirmed that the UK prime minister conveyed to Jordanian and Omani leaders that Iran must return to diplomatic negotiations, noting that escalating tensions in the Middle East serve no one’s interest.
